The TATP Years: 1993

Following our award-beating 1985 mix, The TATP Years returns with our own sideways, head-tilted, cross-eyed look at a specific year and the news, music, adverts, comedy, cinema, fads and television it coughed up into the ether. If you’ve never heard one of our shows before, expect things you wouldn’t necessarily find in a more traditional look back, plus our studio posse for the entire mix – Mr Phillip Dawsons. Woo. Yeaaahhh.

Featured within is music from  The Flaming Lips, David Bowie, SWV, Digable Planets, Porno For Pyros, Ween, Saint Etienne, Blur, Bjork and David Arnold, Jamiroquai, Stakka Bo, Slowdive, Terence Trent D’arby with Des’ree, Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine and Simon May.

Plus clips from Lee and Herring’s Fist Of Fun,  Beverly Hills 90210, Worker and Parasite,  Groundhog Day, Armando Iannucci on Radio 1, Newman and Baddiel In Pieces, Falling Down, The Wrong Trousers, Grumpy Old Men, Beavis and Butthead, The Smell Of Reeves And Mortimer, The Shuttleworths, At Home With Vic And Bob, Army Of Darkness and we say adios to Eldorado. Ner ner ner ner British airfield.

The TATP Years is a monthly podcast throughout 2013 to give each mix a bit more time in the sun and offer something nice to look forward to. You can get them all from the TATP site itself or via iTunes *here* and if you think we’re the sort of mixtape monkeys you’d like to share with the world, please consider giving us a nice review and rating so other decent souls with excellent taste in podcast nonsense might find their way here too. Thank you!
